ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Has enjoyed considerable success by claiming horses and turning a quick profit.
• Cites father Richard Dutrow Sr., who passed away in 1999, as his greatest inspriation: "I had a lot of fun with my father. He did a great job of getting his horses to the races. Lite the Fuse was probably his best horse, talent-wise. He won the Carter Handicap twice (1995 and 1996), and was second twice in the Met Mile. We also had King's Swan (who enjoyed the popular title as the King of Aqueduct). He won a number of stakes, including the Vosburgh (1986), the Bold Ruler (1988) and the Tom Fool (1988)."
• Brother Anthony Dutrow is a trainer based in Maryland.
• Moved stable to Maryland in early 1990s.
• Dutrow also gives credit for his success to owner Sanford Goldfarb, whom he met in 1998: "He's given me some great opportunities and has even brought in other clients for me to train for."
