I've Got the Fever entered
By Michael Sherack
02-08-2010
IEAH Stables' I've Got the Fever, trained by John Terranova II, is entered to make his next start in a $41,000 maiden purse at Aqueduct on Thursday, February 11. Approximate post time is 12:58 p.m. for the day's second race.
Channing Hill has the mount on I've Got the Fever, who drew the outside post position in a field of eight that includes a pair of coupled entries – Charitable Storm and Comical, and Pierre Lapin and Upper Afleet.
The race will be run at one mile and 70 yards on the inner dirt track and was open to 3-year-olds.
I've Got the Fever will race with blinkers on for the first time.
The following Daily Racing Form coverage previews his scheduled start.
I've Got the Fever is listed at 4-1 on the morning line, with the coupled entry of Charitable Storm and Comical favored at 2-5. The consensus selections, in order, of DRF handicappers are Charitable Storm, Comical, and I've Got the Fever.
The selections of Michael Hammersly, DRF analyst, mirror the consensus. He writes, "Dutrow appears to hold the aces with his strong entry of CHARITABLE STORM and COMICAL. The former is a first-time starter who's worked splendidly at PHA and Dutrow is a solid 12% first out. It's no easy feat to debut going long but it sure helps this guy is a half to multiple G2 SW Charitable Man. COMICAL was no match for freaky winner Tempted to Tapit in his route debut here Jan. 18, losing by 11+. However, he still showed talent, finishing 10 clear of 3rd. He's by G1 BC Classic hero Ghostzapper so the trip should be no sweat and Dominguez stays. Dutrow is 27% 2nd time out and this guy's 2 sibs to race are winners including Ron Bob and Dave (3 wins, $124K). I'VE GOT THE FEVER is trending the right way and can benefit from that 2nd here Jan. 2 after 3 months on the bench. A bullet 1:00.60 Jan. 28 bodes well, too, for this half-brother to 2-time SW Marianne Rose."
Steve Grabowski took "A Closer Look" at I've Got the Fever: "Secured second behind a runaway winner who earned an 87 Beyer last time out; he's eligible to get better in his second 2 turn try while also making his second start off a 3 month break and the hood could help him stay more alert early; stuck outside, but he appears the main danger to the chalk."
